This day turned out to be the most advantageous of any tournament our club has ever had. We started
out with the perfect weather conditions to fish but by the end of the day weather conditons turned toward the difficult side.
On a good note Drew Brown and Wayne Garrett won their first tournament of the year hands down with a monster 5 fish limit
of 24.81lbs! I think this might be a Club Record which I will confirm later. Gerald Gentry and Jim West came in
second place with a weight of 15.77lbs and they also captured the Big Fish pot with a 6.28 Chunk. Clarence Jenkins and Chuck
Conger came in third place with 14.53lbs. Congratulations to all!!
On a serious note we had a member get seriously
hurt. Tommy Wray was struck by a rental boat while trying to keep another rental boat from blowing off into the water. Luckily
for him Daniel Ladnier and Scott Parkhurst acted fast and pulled him out of the water as he was knocked face first into the
water and unconscious. Tommy is doing remarkably well even though he has 14 stitches in his head. I've always heard how
hard headed us fishermen are and Tommy is living proof. After talking to Tommy the next day, he says he can't wait until
the next tournament.
